Volt Shroom is an item for use in battle. In Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, It temporarily makes the user electric, which does 1 damage to all direct attackers. The Zap Tap badge has the same effect as a Volt Shroom but lasts for an infinite amount of time as long as the player wears the badge and has enough BP. In Super Paper Mario, the Volt Shroom has a different use. When used, you must press a series of buttons on the Wii Remote to boost a meter, which will give you an electric shield for 20-40 seconds, depending on how far you boosted the meter. The shield will paralyze any enemy that touches you, leaving them more vulnerable to your attacks.
