A Trial Stew is a recipe from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Super Paper Mario. In both games, it is made by cooking a Poison Shroom with a Couple's Cake. In Thousand-Year Door, It drops HP down to 1 for both Mario and his partner, as well as dropping FP to 0. However, it also maximizes Star Power and boosts the amount gained for a certain amount of time. In Super Paper Mario, the Trial Stew drops HP down to 1, but increases the score by however much HP is lost times 100.

Trivia

• This is the only food item which completely fills one status but completely drains the other two.
• In the Japanese version of Thousand-Year Door, a Trial Stew can also be made by cooking a Thunder Bolt with a Thunder Rage.
