Tony is one of the Pianta Bros. Being Don Pianta's number-two guy, he is often given tasks, such as taking care of the rival gang the Robbos as seen in the early cutscene when Mario first talks to Toadsworth. He was also originally given the task of finding Don Pianta's daughter, Francesca. Unfortunately, he couldn't find her, so Don Pianta had to give the job to Mario.
