The Super Hammer is the first upgrade to the Hammer which can be acquired in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It is more powerful than a regular Hammer, and can do more damage in battles as well as being able to break more types of blocks than the regular Hammer. A second upgrade, the Ultra Hammer, can also be found in the games with further power and block destruction capability.

How to obtain[]
The Super Hammer is found in Dry Dry Ruins in the deepest and farthest room.
Ability in the field[]
It can break Stone Blocks. Like the normal hammer, it can also be used to hit trees and break brick blocks.
Ability in battle[]
The Super Hammer's base attack power is three, two more than the regular Hammer. Correctly inputting the action command will increase its power by one more point.

How to obtain[]
When "X", tells Mario to go to the Juice Bar in Glitzville, the bartender will present it as an anonymous gift.
Ability in the field[]
Press and hold the B button. Rotate the control stick to make Mario twist, then release the B button to spin the hammer. The new ability can break big blocks. Depending on how much the control stick is twisted, Mario will spin faster and complete between three and five spins. This, however, has no effect on the actual field performance.
Ability in battle[]
The Super Hammer's base attack power is three, two more than the regular Hammer. Correctly inputting the action command will increase its power by one more point.
In addition, to the increased power, a new attack named the "Super Hammer" is granted that is based on its field ability. For 2 FP, the hammer is spun at the front enemy and if timed correctly, this forefront enemy will be knocked back past all ground-level enemies behind it, damaging them in the process for more damage than the regular attack.
