Ruff Puffs are cloud monsters that appear in Paper Mario, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and Super Paper Mario. They usually charge towards the player or hit them with an electric attack.

History

Paper Mario

Ruff Puffs are only found in Flower Fields, and serve Huff N. Puff. Per their orders, they invade Flower Fields and attack Mario. During battle, they will only charge towards Mario or use an electric attack. Huff N. Puff is also able to summon them during his battle. These puffs are called Tuff Puffs.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Ruff Puffs are only seen in Chapter 7 at the Riverside Station. They are one of the few enemies to not appear in the Pit of 100 Trials. They attack similar to how they did in the first game, but now have the ability to float up higher, avoiding Hammer attacks.

Super Paper Mario

Ruff Puffs reappear once again in Chapter 7-3 of Super Paper Mario. Their only attack has them charging up and spitting out an electric ball.

Tattle

Paper Mario: This is a Ruff Puff. Ruff Puffs are nasty little cloud henchmen of Huff N. Puff. Max HP: 10, Attack Power: 4, Defense Power: 0. Ruff Puffs float in the air, so a Jump attack or something similar may be best. Of course, I'd be more than happy to give 'em a Headbonk! It's your call, Mario.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door: This is a Ruff Puff. Don't confuse them with Dark Puffs... Although I don't think the world would end if you DID confuse them, but anyway... Max HP is 7, Attack is 4, and Defense is 0. They swoop at you or charge themselves with electricity before unleashing lightning. Oh, and if you touch them while they're charged, you'll get a shock!

Super Paper Mario: That's a Ruff Puff. It floats in the sky, like a little grumpy thundercloud... Max HP is 15 and Attack is 4. It will shock you if you get too close... You'd better keep your distance until you see an opening to attack... Do you think it's related to the cloud Lakitu rides around on?
