Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 is a giant robotic mech created by Lord Crump and boss fight in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and its 2024 remake, it is the improved and better looking version of the original Magnus Von Grapple. It is the main boss of Chapter 7, is the final boss to hold the Crystal Star and is overall the twelfth boss of the game.
Summary[]
As one last chance to impress Sir Grodus, Lord Crump created the upgraded version of the original Magnus Von Grapple to lure Mario and his Partner to the X-Naut Fortress, despite its increases power, it was no match for Mario, for which after Mario and his friends defeat it, it blows up and flings Lord Crump into space.
Attacks[]
Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 has the same attacks as its original counter-part, but this time it can fly high and preform a Drill Attack with its drill hands, which can take away 6 hit-points and also replaces its foot stomp ability. It can also launch an x-shaped disk from the cockpit which can also take away 6 hit-points. It retains its ability to fire off its fists like rockets like it originally can, but they do more damage and can take away 9 hit-points. It's most dangerous attack is that it can suck audience members into itself and shoot them out at Mario or a Partner with its chest like a blaster, which if not block can take away 30 hit-points. Despite how menacing it looks, its only really deadly attack is the machine gun attack, when it shoots out audience members and it can take away up to 30 hit points if no defense is provided.
Tips/Tricks[]
Being basically the upgraded version of a second boss, the strategy remains the same, the only different is to make sure that either Mario and/or Partner has been beefed up with defenses should Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 use the machine gun.
Trivia[]
- Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 is the only Main Chapter Boss in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door to be a reskin of another boss. Gloomtail is just a normal boss fight while the Shadow Sirens get re-fought with higher attacks and Doopliss being part of the fight.
- Like many remakes, Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 is stronger and a lot more dangerous than its original.
