Magic Circles are an interactive game mechanic from Paper Mario: The Origami King. Olivia assists Mario in using them, allowing both of them to fold into a variety of different things.
Magic Circle Abilities[]
- 1,000-Fold Arms - Allows Mario to pull hanging paper off of a variety of surfaces, and get hard to reach objects. Also used in Boss Battles, for various offensive purposes.
- Earth Vellumental - Allows Olivia to turn into the Earth Vellumental. In battle, this causes Mario to rise on a pillar, then Olivia tucks in her limbs, spins around, then slams the ground, causing damage to all groundborne enemies. Flying enemies are unaffected.
- Water Vellumental - Allows Olivia to turn into the Water Vellumental. In battle, Mario rides on Olivia's back as she blasts a deluge of water at the center of the ring, shooting waves in every direction, damaging all enemies. This ability is also used to extinguish flames caused by the Fire Vellumental.
- Fire Vellumental - Allows Olivia to turn into the Fire Vellumental. In battle, Mario rides on Olivia's back as she breathes fire at the center of the ring which spreads around, damaging all enemies. This ability is also used to burn tape laid down by the Tape boss and to melt the ice protecting the Ice Vellumental.
- Ice Vellumental - Allows Olivia to turn into the Ice Vellumental. In battle, Mario rides on Olivia's back as she shoots a beam of ice at the center of the ring, then smashes it, damaging all enemies.
- Rock-Paper-Scissors - This form only appears in the second phase of the Handaconda boss battle.
- Giant Hammer - Olivia transforms into this in the final phase of the King Olly boss battle.
