Lava Buds are young Lava Piranhas that appear in Chapter 5 on Lavalava island in Paper Mario. They assist the giant Lava Piranha in battle, but are weaker. In the first battle, they spit out a Petit Piranha directly at Mario, but in the second battle they let the petit attack on its own. Also in the second battle, they cannot be killed. They are simply stunned for a few turns upon reaching 0 HP. Lava Buds have a strong resemblance to Naval Buds.
