AHAHAHA! You should've seen the look on your face! ...No, seriously. Can we get a mirror over here? -Iggy Koopa
Iggy Koopa is one of the many Koopalings of Bowser. He is the second boss in Paper Mario: Color Splash, and is found at the Golden Coliseum.
Encounter[]
Mario encounters him after he defeats all the enemies in the first round of the Battle Royale. He, along with two other minions, circle around Mario in their Chain Chomp chariots. They eventually stop in front of Mario. Iggy then introduces himself and fights Mario. After Mario defeats him, he expresses embarrassment on how he was defeated on his home turf. He then flies away into the distance. He can later be seen at the end of the game where he is shown along with the other Koopalings flying on a broken airship that is later blown up by fireworks.
Battle Tactics[]
Like Morton, despite looking tough, his battle isn't that hard if you know what you're doing. In the first phase of the fight, Iggy will shoot yellow magic at you or do a shell spin. Once you drain his HP to a certain point, he'll ride out of battle on his chariot, leaving his two other minions to attack for a turn. When Iggy returns and the three targets are lined up, using the Bone Thing will summon a Chain Chomp that will destroy the chariots and the other two minions. If you don't do this in time, Iggy will summon a Thwomp and knock you out instantly. Unlike Morton, Iggy will still do as much damage as he did in his first phase.
Personality[]
Iggy is the most sardonic of the Koopalings, saying things like "Let's see what you're made of, pretty boy!" He is loyal to Bowser like the other Koopalings.
Trivia[]
- When Iggy summons the Thwomp, its attack deals 999 damage, the most recorded damage with scissors in any Paper Mario game.
- If you use a Bone Replica, Iggy will knock the Bone away with his wand, preventing it from having any effect.
- The minions who help Iggy in battle somewhat act similarly to Iggy, whereas if the player attempts to attack them while they are in their chariots, they will mock Mario by saying "NOPE! You can't touch our chariots!" which is something Iggy would do (Similarly, the minions helping Ludwig fight Mario speak like actual soldiers who are serious about their jobs while the minions on the Sunset Express don't want to do the hard thankless work that Bowser orders them to do but feel like they are forced to and have no choice, similarly to Larry how he does what Bowser says because he doesn't want to get yelled at and is seemingly lazy with taking orders as a result of wanting to get it over with.)
- Iggy blatantly saying he was going to go for a leisurely drive while his minions attack Mario shows Iggy being jokingly aware of the fact he's just letting his minions do the work while he just leaves to goof off for a little bit before coming back to actually fight Mario with his minions. Iggy is constantly not very serious consistently across many games.
