The Ice Vellumental is a boss from Paper Mario: The Origami King. It takes the form of a large origami polar bear and lives in the middle of the Ice Vellumental Temple. It is the fourth and final Vellumental Boss, is the first boss of Chapter 4 and is overall the ninth boss of the game.

Summery[]

Much like the previous Vellumentals, there's not much information of the Ice Vellumental aside from the fact that it lives in then Ice Vellumental Mountain.

Attacks[]

The Ice Vellumental's primary ability is encasing itself in ice that will make it more defensive to Mario's attacks, if which it still has its ice barrier, it will do a icy spin strike that if not block, will do massive damage on the Player, after it loses its ice shield, the Ice Vellumental will use more primary attacks, if Mario is too close, the Ice Vellumental will do a claw swipe, or if Mario is too far, it will use one of three attacks, it can preform a powered up version of its claw swipe that will also create ice pillars in the front that will create an icy area that if Mario makes contact with, will freeze Mario costing him turn, do a roll out move similar to the one it can use in its ice shield only weaker or fire an ice beam from its mouth that not only dose it too also create an ice area on the floor, but if not block, will also freeze Mario, costing him a turn, after losing around halve of its HP, the Ice Vellumental will drop ice on one of the panels that too will also freeze Mario if on contact, even while it's encase in its ice shield, its strongest attack is unleashing a series of ice pillars that will freeze one of the areas, scramble the rings, and will charge up an attack that on the next turn, will cause an area ice attack to do massive damage.

Strategy[]

The Ice Vellumental can be quite tricky for First-Time Players, in the first stage the Player must first open up a chest on the first turn to get either the "ON" panel or the Fire Vellumental panel, then use either Fire Flowers to do damage, on the second turn the Player must flip on the "ON" switch to then use the Fire Vellumental to destroy the Ice Vellumental's Ice Shield, after which the player has three options, the first is too attack the Ice Vellumental with either the Hammer or Jump attack, tho it takes longer due to the Ice Vellumental's large defense, the second option is to use the Fire Flower that will do decent damage, the third and best option is to flip the "ON" switch to then use the 1,000 Folded Arm trick to not only deal a lot of damage, but can also stun the Ice Vellumental for a turn, should an impotent panel get in case in ice, the player can use the arena to move the ice panel in the opposite direction to uncase it in ice, the Player must do so because, two of the attacks that the Ice Vellumental will create can also make ice on the floor that will freeze the player if on contact, coasting them a turn.

After nearly one-third of the Ice Vellumental's heath has been depleted, it will create the Ice Maze, when that happens the Player must memorize what the path was to avoid the ice path, flip the "ON" switch, then land on the 1'000 Folded Arm panel to not only stop the Ice Vellumental from using it's attack, but to also deal the final damaging blow on the Ice Vellumental.
