Frost Piranhas are icy Piranha Plants with icy breath, just as Putrid Piranhas are poisonous Piranha Plants with poisonous breath. Frost Piranhas are located in very cold regions of each game as well as the Pit of 100 Trials. Their icy cold breath can freeze Mario, halting his ability to move. Its other attack is chomping Mario or his partner. The easiest way to defeat Frost Piranhas is to use fire items or attacks. In Super Paper Mario, they are only found in The Underwhere.
Paper Mario: This is a Frost Piranha. Frost Piranhas are frozen Piranha Plants. Max HP: 10, Attack Power: 4, Defense Power: 0 They'll try to freeze you with their icy breath. You'll be at their mercy if they freeze you, so you'd better try to immobilize them right away. Ice attacks won't work--they love ice! Fire attacks, though...
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door: That's a Frost Piranha. It's a cool customer with strong ice powers. Max HP is 10, Attack is 5 and Defense is 0. Its biting attack sometimes freezes us, so try to immobilize it first. It's weak against fire attacks, too, so use them as well.
Super Paper Mario: This frigid Frost Piranha has subzero breath... Max HP is 7 and Attack is 3. If you get breathed on, you'll be frozen for a bit... Originally hailing from a cold climate, this plant struck out in search of new prey... This plant loves ice cream, but hates hot-fudge sundaes.
New Super Mario Bros. U/New Super Luigi U/New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
Frost Piranhas make their first appearance outside of the Paper Mario world in New Super Mario Bros. U known as Ice Piranha Plants. Here, their behavior is similar to Super Paper Mario but spit Iceballs similar to Fire Piranha Plants from previous Mario games. In addition, they have the same coloration as normal Piranha Plants and Fire Piranha Plants. They appear in Fuzzy Clifftop in U, while in New Super Luigi U, they appear in Broozers and Barrels. They also reprise their roles in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
