Strategy[]
In terms of the overall strategy, the Mini-Boss Fight agents Dark Bones fight very similar to the Red Bones of Hooktail Castle, they can throw their own Bones at either the Player, Partner or both, build back the Dry Bones that had been defeat by the Player can can reform itself after a few turns should one of the Dry Bones in the battle still be active, only they are more stronger, have higher defenses and have more HP, so the strategy remains basically the same, but it can be considered easier as the Player(s) now has access to both Vivian and Admiral Bobbery, who Fiery Jinx and Bomb Blast respectively can not only deal high damage, but can also caused Fire Damage in in term can defeat both the Dry Bones and the Dark Bones should they be low on HP.
Trivia[]
- Showstopper can KO Dark Bones in one hit.
- Some pre-battle dialogue reveals that Dark Bones was created to prevent the Shadow Queen from ever awakening.
- Fittingly enough, Red Bones is the first Dungeon Chapter Mini-Boss in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, while Dark Bones is the final Dungeon Chapter Mini-Boss of the game of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, creating the feeling of having gone full circle once both have been defeated.
- The Dark Bones is only stronger than Dry Bones because its HP (20) is higher than the Dry Bones's 8 HP. They are otherwise identical in function in terms of battling capability.
