Bowser Jr. is a major antagonist in Sticker Star and Paper Jam. He also appears as a partner and one of Mario's main allies in The Origami King. He is the son and sole child of Bowser, making him prince of the Koopas, and heir to the Koopa kingdom. Bowser Jr. can be described as a bold and energetic prodigy, who is very talented and powerful for his age. He often does mischievous things to make his father proud because he idolizes him and shares a close bond with him. Despite him often exhibiting spoiled behavior due to his father's influence on him, he is just lonely and wishes to use his talents for what's best.
History[]
Paper Mario: Sticker Star[]
Bowser Jr. is first encountered as a mini-boss in Warm Fuzzy Plains chasing a Toad to obtain a rare sticker. When fought, he must be defeated by using the scissors. When defeated, he uses Paperize to remove a bridge leading to a Comet Piece and throws the bridge out of Mario's reach. He is fought a second time a Mario's boat, in which he ambushes Mario when returning from either World 4 or 5. The final fight with him is in World 6 on his airship, where he is notably stronger than the previous encounters.
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam[]
Like his father, Paper Bowser Jr. came out of the book which contained the Paper Mario universe. He and his 3D counterpart became good friends and had managed to steal the book from Luigi, which will eventually be in the hands of the Bowsers. The Bowser Jr. duo fight Luigi and the Mario duo in their Junior Clown Cars, similar to how they fight in past games.
Paper Bowser Jr. is the only paper character to have completely smooth animations throughout the whole game.
Paper Mario: The Origami King[]
Bowser Jr. makes his first appearance in-game when he rushes in to Bowser's Castle to save his father, only to get unexpectedly stopped by Scissors who cuts him up into pieces. Luckily, Kamek was with him and pleads to Mario and Olivia to help him take advantage of the magical springs in Shangri-Spa to restore the prince. After visiting each spa and being fully restored, Bowser Jr. helps Mario and Olivia get past the Boss Sumo Bro guarding Bowser's Castle and leads the rescue effort to save his father.
Later on, Bowser Jr. fulfills one of his duties as prince by helping Mario guide the airship into the siege on King Olly. After the airship crashes into Hotfoot Crater and Mario and friends have to escape the rising volcano and a horde of Folded Soldiers, Bowser Jr. heroically steps up to hold off the onslaught.
In the end, after Mario defeats Prince Olly, Bowser Jr. can be seen when the game's main cast groups up at the front of Peach's Castle, and later on having some wholesome quality time with his father at the Origami Festival.
