Black paint

Black paint is a toxic, sentient, and corrupted form of paint. It can be considered the overarching antagonist of Paper Mario: Color Splash, taking the form of Black Bowser. During the events of Paper Mario: Color Splash, Black Paint is formed after Bowser mixes the paint in the Prisma Fountain. Bowser gets the black paint on his shell, and it covers his whole body, possessing him. Using Bowser's body, the Black Paint attempts to purge Prism Island of life and colored paint. In game, Mario will take damage when he touches black paint. Black paint has been observed as being capable of being able to quickly multiply and can also form into other objects such as hammers or Lava Bubbles.
